Favorite band from Boston?
Aerosmith, without a doubt.
Cars are a close second.

Great Polka/Fusion/Bagpipe combo band. Their 1986 tour is legendary.

Boston.
Edit- Although it was interesting to later find out that they were not infact a band, they were Tom Shultz with a hired band because that was what was popular at the time. Shultz played most of the instruments himself on the recordings and was such a perfectionist that he stalled so long on a 3rd album that they lost their popularity while he tinkered with the sound obsessively.

Mission of Burma

For a city its size and the number of colleges and universities it boasts, it's amazing how few the decent bands are that have come out of Boston.

The Pixies, people. Sheesh!

What about Bullet Lavolta?

With the crap on this list, I'd expect one of you to pick the New Kids on the Block.

Dropkick Murphys > Pixies.

Not by much, but there it is.

Type O Negative, what a hoot. I got one of their CD's for Christmas one year, somehow my conservative dad managed to "accidently" run over it by the time the day was over.

I'm not sure which one to pick, but I'm sure it will be some really obscure band that will make me seem cool and trendy.
