Update. Warren Zevon today.

Wanted Dead or Alive

I want to live alone in the desert
I want to be like Georgia O'Keefe
I want to live on the Upper East Side
And never go down in the street
Splendid Isolation
I don't need no one
Splendid Isolation
Michael Jackson in Disneyland
Don't have to share it with nobody else
Lock the gates, Goofy, take my hand
And lead me through the World of Self
Splendid Isolation
I don't need no one
Splendid Isolation
Don't want to wake up with no one beside me
Don't want to take up with nobody new
Don't want nobody coming by without calling first
Don't want nothing to do with you
I'm putting tinfoil up on the windows
Lying down in the dark to dream
I don't want to see their faces
I don't want to hear them scream
Splendid Isolation
I don't need no one
Splendid Isolation
Splendid Isolation
I don't need no one
Splendid Isolation

You are bofe great Americans.

The Envoy will be in my CD player on the way home.

The White Stripes - Icky Thump

I like The White Stripes well enough, but that has got to be one of the most gawd awful songs ever created.

Haven't listened to my iPod in months and the only CD in any player around our house is Carly Simon's Greatest hits in Mrs. C's Bose Wave Machine. I will admit to putting it there and listening to it last Saturday night while I sat on the deck drinking single malt. And there was another CD before that, but I can't for the life of me remember what the**** it was.

Disagree on Icky Thump but the CD isn't all about that song. The whole rekkid flows well, and I like what Jack is trying to do later in the CD incorporating some Nashville and Southern California sounds. I think he's about to do something major in a solo way.

The funny thing is that a "solo" record would probably involve more players than his current band.

Traffic blows. I swear if people paid just a little bit of attention and got off their damned phones it would not be half as bad.

HA! That was exactly what I was thinking. Then again, when you partner/wife goes all whack job on you mid-tour, you're pretty much resigned to doing something solo, or you'll be stuck at home eating cheetos, watching Fawlty Manor reruns, and spoon feeding a bedridden drooler.
