Try 60 yr old.

Watched Man on Fire again last night. I have the DVD. One word. Bad Fuckin' Ass. Denzel is a stud in this movie. Any guy who has not seen this should watch it. Not for the kiddies and the ladies probably won't like it much either, but it is an awesome guy flick.

I know it's not totally believable, but if you want to see a pissed off black man kick *** and take names this is the movie to see.

A++++++++

Sunshine: B-

solid sci-fi story, decent twist in the last 30 minutes, but they didn't do enough to make me actually give a**** about the characters, so when bitches started getting killed I really didn't care.

The Kingdom: A - How this movie didn't get more pop is beyond me. There's a great chases scene and the action sequences are gripping. Good story that touches on lots of the political layers involved.

Agreed - I thought this was an awesome movie, and I typically don't like the war themes.

3:10 to Yuma was great also, and other outside of my normal genre. Give it an A

Truly inspirational. I'm sure there's some "hollywood" in it, but when Coach Lengyel is having his crisis of conscience and searching himself and his surroundings for something, some way, somebody, anything to reach in and motivate, that is really an inspiring few minutes. It shows what a "coach" does to be a "coach" or how a "Coach" becomes a "Coach."

Partial bonus points for the quasi-trend-bucking ending. Any of the other characters would have been better.

Christian Bale is starting to become worth watching regardless of the movie.

Rescue Dawn was an above-average movie, but he was really good in it.

Netflix:

1/1: Pee Wee's Big Adventure--> D

1/4: Robots--> A- Robin Williams is a funny mf even animated.

1/6: The Wire-Season 2--> A Not quite as excellent as Season 1, but some pretty**** good teevee.

1/10: Monsters, Inc.--> A+ Best movie ending evar.

1/19: Spiderman 3--> C. Just needed about 3 more story lines to be totally incomprehensible. Cool "fight" scenes, tho.

1/21: Rounders--> A-. Trying to figure out what the "-" is for. Even more so trying to figure out how Dyl and Cheaps gave it a B. Tough graders.

1/23: The Wire-Season 3--> A+. Top Notch. What great acting and writing.

1/26: A Good Year--> B+/B Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott make a thoroughly entertaining "small" film. Great date movie. A Good Year >>> Sideways imho.

2/2: Sideways--> B+ Better than I remembered and the comparison above is a little unfair. They're different movies. Certainly more moments in Sideways.

Netflix:
The 3 Bourne flicks all at once over the last few days. We saw 1 and 3 at the theatre, but missed 2. All are solid - B
Buddy Holly Story - Solid A
Radio - Cuba Gooding Jr. Nice story, particularly good ending - B
Dreamgirls - CS Jr apparently doesn't do musicals, Eddie Murphy is awesome - B+
Rent - Couldn't get "Everybody has AIDS" from Team America out of my head, didn't finish watching - C-
Jet Li Fearless - good story, EXCELLENT action sequences and photography - B
Good Night and Good Luck - good, preachy, not enough tension - B-
Almost Heros - The worst Christopher Guest movie ever - D- turned it off

U2 3D - IMAX 3d is impressive. Technically impressive, VERY immersive and emotional. Best concert film since Stop Making Sense even if U2 are panty-wearing, peacemongers. Solid. A

Eastern Promises B+ Very good movie. A little difficult to get into and it's not a high paced action thriller by any means, but very intense. Questions in the begin eventually come out through the course of the movie. The fight scene is not for the faint of heart.
