Islam's greatest enemy.
The single most important lesson to be learned from the events in Turkey is the obvious one, and it is a lesson for Muslims: namely, that they have as much to fear from militant Islam and its Islamist dictators and strongmen as does the west....if not more.

It is clear that the greatest enemy Muslim societies have are the extremists in their midst: Baathists, fundamentalists, and so-called " political Islamists.

A radical minority can take over a country or a faith.
Minorities were sufficient to turn entire societies into communist or Nazi tyrannies.

Western societies can only protect themselves against militant Islam.
They cannot provide a remedy for it.

No. The statement is just as valid. As is yours.

Well, then. Let's move to the next available target. Abortion clinics and Christians(sic)...

Let's try it:

It is clear that the greatest enemy Oklahoma City have are the extremists in their midst: Christian.

Validity and coherence change. But that's to be expected when a statement finds a moral equivalence between a single, isolated incident that hasn't recurred since 1995 and was roundly condemned and punished by death and recurring, widespread acts of terror that are, at best, not condemned, and, at worst, celebrated in the streets.

Try again, d-man.

You're absolutely right. McVeigh was the only white guy to blow up anything in the United States. Eric Robert Rudolf was just a figment of my imagination.

Well, to be fair, McVeigh and Rudolph appear to have unrelated motives. The Islamic Jihad has a lot of methods but a common goal.

Seriously guys, are really comparing the Islamic threat to the "Christian threat" in this country? As Hoosier says, there is near universal condemnation and capital punishment for these acts. When Christians start taking down jets or begin flying them into large buildings along with chanting "Death to Americans!!" I'll start worrying.

Is the underlined text above better? Do you really equate what a couple of maniacs have done in isolation with what is currently being perpetrated in the name of Islam? Plus you've now inserted white in place of Christian. If you're going to rave incoherently at least try to stay on message. We're hating Christians in this thread. You can hate whites in another one.

Nah, let's go ahead and lump all American extremists into the same pot just as we are doing with the Middle Eastern Muslims extremists. That is a fair analogy. The goal is essentially the same- affect change in their favor and reduce the power of the ruling authority.

I think it can be said that if these other countries had anywhere near the success in controlling their extremist population as the United States, the world would be considerably safer than it is today.

Zorro-I simply ask you this.

The the U.S. was not in Iraq, would we have seen these attacks in Turkey or Istanbul?

The answer is No.

The war in Iraq is not a part of the War on Terrorism, despite the endless Busch regime attempts to brainwash us into thinking so.

Busch Light piggy-backed, or "snuck" this Iraqi war into his War on Terrorism, because he thought he could get away with it, that it would be so short & sweet that nobody would notice, & for many other reasons

Iraq is where the engine & train of the War on Terrorism has derailed.

It was destined to derail somewhere, whether in Afghanistan or wherever, but Iraq is just a fake war playing off the sentiments of Americans from 911 & for personal reasons of the Busch regime, for revenge & for profit motives.

Your buddy Busch is going to keep trying to ram that "terrorism" **** down your throat, so I hope you are getting used to it and liking it.

"Terrorism" is just a trick to put billions of bucks in the pockets of his pals & to try to portray himself as a saintly wartime President while he's robbing our Nation's coffers & destroying America's credibility around the Globe.

In other words, I say to you that Busch and his pals are profiteering off the tragedy of 911, lining their pockets with money from it.

As for that saying, "Everything changed on 911", you can flush that sentence down the toilet, unless you want to use it to explain how many of Busch's pals have become millionaires since then.

Is there Terrorism in the world? Of course, but George Busch has created a whole new Industry, an engine of anti-terrorism to run for decades into the forseeable Future.

Worse than the history-book tales of deluded European Crusaders who died in the old Holy Lands & in which campaigns they bankrupted the treasuries of European countries for nothing.

Clam is right. There are groups of people here that would like nothing more than to make the USA a theocracy. That way, they can control all the stuff you do that they think are wrong and will send you to hell. These people likely have good intentions, but you know where those roads usually lead. These include the people who refuse to let you buy a case of beer on Sundays, want to force your children to pray in a Government school, and make sure the courts decide cases on what the 10 Commandments say, not what the rule of law dictates. Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and especially Catholics need not apply.

We also have groups of people who would like to implement a theocracy not based on God, but on political correctness. Already, we've got the courts making decisions on what people should/shouldn't eat, smoke, say, write and do. What's next?

Thankfully, our form of government has allowed for the peaceful transition of power, and keeping the extremists from both right and left from taking control. Unfortunately, other nations haven't been able to do this.

It also works great if you insert "intellectual elitist," "marxist" and "environmentalist."

Deadsville-It goes against what Americans think they know that people would be willing to sacrifice themselves as Abrams M-1 tank road-kill, besides all the other suicide attacks.

Americans playing as ignorant, or having no comprehension of the Jap kamikazis.

On the other hand, Americans all are familiar with American soldiers who volunteer for so-called "suicide missions".

But Americans want to pretend that these things are different if our troops do it, than when some other Country's men do it, which is just a joke, of course, it all being an identical idiotic, sacrifical waste of life.

This kind of an interesting story about how a Muslim cleric put a fly in the ointment when he issued a fatwa. Bremer ignored him and things were delayed for four months.
