Interesting concept. Not sure if it would work. My oath of office was to the Constitution of the United States. The President isn't mentioned. Enlisted folks swear to support and defend the Constitution first, then agree to obey the orders of the president and the officers appointed over them.

So I think that if a President directed the military to seize control of the country, outside of the provisions of the Constitution, the military could tell him to f-off.

Good issue for the board scholars to chew on.

I think the stink of George Bush will take longer than two years to wash off. I'd look at 2014 as the next logical election for a New Look Republican Party to make a legislative impact.

The stink of Nixon wore off pretty quickly. Or maybe the Jimmy Carter stink was just too overpowering.

hot

hey tvwxman where are you getting your election coverage tonight? what channel? and why?

A melange of CNN, Fox News and My ATL 36 (Eric von Hassler will be on a panel and I like his takes). If it's turning bad for Obama, I'll tune into MSNBC for the humor.

My GF is an independent (seriously, although she tends right in most things. She voted for W the first time, then Kerry, now McCain). She got into a big argument with her best friend last night who's a big-time dem.

I was thinking of ATL 36 for the same reason, but then I found out Bert from the Bert Show was going to be on the panel.

Two words: Tidal Wave

Obama with 350+ electoral votes

Dems get 59 Senate seats, plus Georgia goes to a run off, giving us 4 weeks of hell

I'm doing CNN. I like all the fancy colors, the maps and how they try to put 30 people on the screen at the same time.
