WHY DID HE/THEY SELL? I SEEM TO REMEMBER WITH HIM AND AOL.

He didn't really sell, so much as was pushed aside after the merger with AOL. He lost majority control and was put out to pasture, basically.

He sold TBS to Time Warner before the Thrashers ever came on the scene, so he was never in complete control like he was with the Braves and the Hawks even though he had a big hand in bringing the NHL back to Atlanta.

In fact, I'd venture to say that if he hadn't, there might have never been an Atlanta Thrashers franchise. Or at least, it would've been under different ownership.

This was the 2nd regular season home game in '99. Norm Maracle was in net for the Thrash and got lit up by the Wings.

Hasek was on Buffalo and it wasn't a preseason game. It was the first point in team history.
